Overview

This plant is a cultivar of Cordyline baueri and forms a solitary stem up to 2.5m (8ft) tall and is topped with a crown of dull red sword-shaped leaves. The small fragrant white flowers appear on mature plants in pendant clusters during summer and the plant is grown in patio or veranda pots as a focal point. It is also planted in garden beds in small groves and prefers a full sun to semi-shaded position. It grows in most well drained soils on the coast and inland and is drought tolerant. It has a medium water requirement once established.
