Common Name: Yellow box, honey box, yellow ironbark

Description: Eucalyptus melliodora is a medium to tall native tree which has rough, flaky or fibrous bark on part or all of the trunk, smooth greyish to yellowish bark above. Juvenile foliages are elliptic to ovate green to greyish-green and up to 11cm long then turn into narrow, dull green to greyish, up to 14cm long, densely veined, marginal vein distant from the edge.The yellow box is very fragrant, creamy-white clusters of flowers appear toward the tip of branches and terminal panicles have three to seven flowers. It is a great shade tree and for street plantings..
